Chicken Pox

Chickenpox is a viral infection that commonly causes illness in children. It is usually mild and complications are rare so it is not part of routine vaccinations in the UK. It is given occasionally to close contacts of someone with chickenpox if they are thought to be particularly vulnerable or at risk of complications.
